Accessibility statement

The AMBER Lab at the University of Haifa treats science as a public good, and is committed to letting every person — including people with disabilities — browse this site, read our research outputs and contact us. Accessibility is reviewed continuously as the site develops.

• Full keyboard navigation, including a “skip to main content” link.
• Visible focus states on every interactive element.
• Colour contrast at AA level for text and interface.
• Semantic heading structure, ARIA landmarks and labels on every button and field.
• Alt text on images, captions for research imagery and descriptions for gallery albums.
• Tap targets of at least 44 px on mobile.
• Video is muted by default with full playback controls.
• Respect for the system reduced-motion preference.
• Full Hebrew support with RTL direction on every page.
• PDF documents are offered with a preview, a view button and a download button.

A floating accessibility button sits at the bottom-left of every page. It opens a compact panel with the following options, and your choice is remembered in your browser for future visits:

• Larger text
• High contrast
• Light background (colour inversion)
• Underlined links
• Readable font
• Increased line and word spacing
• Stop animations
• Large mouse cursor
• Keyboard focus highlighting
• Heading highlighting

Above it, at the same size, sits the cookie settings button, which lets you change your cookie consent at any time.

• Third-party embedded content (Google Maps, YouTube videos, publisher PDFs) is outside our control, and its accessibility is determined by the provider.
• Some scanned scientific documents and conference posters are not fully screen-reader accessible. We are glad to supply their content in an alternative format on request.
• External media articles linked from the press page depend on the accessibility of those outlets' own sites.
